1:1 Parent Support Sessions

Personalised support with a dyslexia specialist to help you understand your child’s needs, navigate school meetings with confidence, and build a plan to help your child succeed

Imagine this…

Your child runs out of school beaming, chatting non-stop about what they did in class.

They feel understood, supported and proud of themselves.

You have a meeting with the teacher and it actually feels productive. You know what to say, the teacher listens, and you both leave with a shared plan that feels right for your child.

Homework doesn’t end in tears. You sit down for ten minutes after dinner, and your child stays engaged and even smiles when they finish.

You’ve stopped frantically googling support tips at 11pm. You know what’s helping, what to focus on, and you’re starting to see a shift in both your child and yourself.

This is what a Parent Support Session can help you create.

But right now, things might feel very different.

You know your child is bright.

They’re imaginative, curious, and full of potential.

But that’s not what school sees.

Their teacher says they're fine but doesn’t seem to get them.

You’re told “they’ll catch up” or “they’re too young for a diagnosis.”

Meanwhile, your child is falling further behind.

They come home exhausted, overwhelmed, or saying they’re “stupid.”

They avoid reading, refuse homework, or melt down when spelling comes up.

You’re trying to stay calm but feel completely stuck.

You’ve spent late nights googling “how to support a dyslexic child,” downloading free resources, reading through forums, and saving lists of assistive tech.

But you’re still not sure what will actually help your child.

You might even have a dyslexia report in hand but can’t make sense of the technical language.

It mentions working memory and phonological awareness, but you're left wondering what you’re supposed to do with that information.

You’ve drafted emails to the school but aren’t sure what to ask for.

You’ve sat in meetings feeling overwhelmed, unsure whether to push harder or back off.

And deep down, you’re worried about what will happen if nothing changes.

That’s where I come in.

Hi, I'm Hannah, nice to meet you.

I’m a qualified teacher, dyslexia specialist and mum of three.

I’ve worked in UK primary schools for over 18 years and have supported many families through dyslexia tuition, assessments, school support plans, how to teach your child at home and the emotional ups and downs that come with it all.

I understand how schools work. I know what’s reasonable to ask for. I also know what makes the biggest difference for dyslexic learners, not just in theory, but in real life.

This session gives you space to talk through your concerns, get straight answers, and leave with a plan that’s clear, manageable and tailored to your child.

During your 1:1 session, we can:

Strengths and Weaknesses

Talk through what your child finds hard and what lights them up

so you can stop guessing and start focusing on what matters most

Dyslexia Reports

Go through any reports or test results

so you can stop rereading the same confusing paragraphs and finally understand what they mean for your child in real life

School Meetings

Prepare for that next school meeting or parent-teacher chat

so you know exactly what to ask for and how to say it, even if it’s a ten-minute catch-up in the playground

Support Plan

Build a simple support plan for home

so you can stop trying random strategies from Instagram and instead use a few targeted activities that really work

Resources and Ideas

Share realistic tools and ideas

so you can weave support into everyday life, even if you only have ten minutes between dinner and bedtime

After your session, you’ll:

Know exactly where to begin

so you can stop jumping between Google searches and finally take a clear next step

Be prepared for school conversations

so you don’t have to panic-write a list of questions five minutes before the meeting

Understand your child’s learning profile

so you can stop trying to decode reports and start feeling confident about what actually helps

Have a plan that fits your family

so you’re not trying to squeeze your child into a one-size-fits-all approach
